Title: Never Let Them See You Sweat! Creating a Positive Learning Environment in Physical Education

Description:
This presentation will examine a wide range of strategies, ideas and solutions that are effective in developing a safe and positive P. E. class environment. Techniques will be addressed for effectively establishing class routines, managing large groups and implementing fun and effective lessons. The presentation will also explore methods for cultivating and maintaining appropriate student behavior during P. E. classes.

Title: Teaching in Small Spaces: Organization and Creativity

Description:
1. Discuss concerns for teaching in small spaces.
2. Discuss solutions/ideas for teaching in small spaces. To expand on this, discuss how management can make a place feel bigger or smaller, how creativity affects the situation (i.e. using every inch of space you do have), how routines have an effect on small spaces, how grouping and student roles have an affect, etc.
3. Present lesson plan ideas for small spaces.

1. Define the Big Picture of student learning and how it is different than traditional grading practice
2. Explore the process a district/school might use to move to SBG
3. Model lesson series that can be used to collect evidence of student learning, with formative and formal assessments
